Momiel started with a simple question: why does good silk cost so much?
We work with silk workshops in China to make 22 momme mulberry silk pillowcases and silk sleep masks, then ship them to you with US duties already paid. Our aim is to make beautiful sleep essentials easier to own and easier to give.
Why 22 momme
Momme measures the weight of silk fabric: one momme is about 4.34 g/m², so 22 momme silk weighs roughly 95 g/m². Many lower-priced silk products use 16 to 19 momme. Our pillowcase uses 22 momme for a denser, more substantial fabric. Read What is momme?
Where it's made
Our silk is made in China, where silk has been woven for thousands of years. Each product page lists its fiber content, care instructions and country of origin.
